Actually agree with Dixon, 9 ball has definitley taken a backwards step.
I agree it is to do with format, tables and tournaments having value for the majority of players.
Except for big mmtv matches there is no buzz whatsoever at any 9 ball event in the uk imo. We need to get this back.
Docs got a point as well, its hard to compete with the top boys without a lot of practice and this is gonna put a lot of players off. Players aren't going to continue spending a fortune going to tournaments to keep getting beat. I think this is partly down to tighter tables, ultra fast clothes which suit the snooker/8 ball converts and the better players.
Obviously the better player should win but there are no money added tournaments in the uk so nobody is gonna make any money without the lesser players entry fees so they need to be catered for.

And when with the format orgenisers are using to keep u in the club spending with the poor turn out at 95% of events it's just not worth it as by the time u have finished u win the event and still out of pocket !! I also agree with Eric 100% one I the main reasons I quit that ad the fact that I can't actually be bothered tho put the time in, yeah it wouldn't take long to get back to a standered to compete with certain people who don't have to work to run a house etc but what at the min is out there to entise people to put the effort in ?? Nothing apart from total9ball and even that with it been so far away ud have to win to break even lol Dixon ....... Right again rhodesy

There's a reason you can't see it going any further sir because you are a follower (otherwise known as a sheep) and lack the required maturity and leadership to be visionary and adaptable to change. People follow leaders who can inspire them to accept change is inevitable but also positive. Like any sport it is required to evolve and move with the times, be flexible to change, sometimes backwards but always with the passion for the game at the forefront. Certain people are leading the way and we know who these are but for those who constantly put the game down quite simply need to do one freedom of speech or otherwise. ----------------- You're Welcome

Hi Kev. Do you think your mate Ian McCormick would be up for a wildcard with me if you are coming up for this MMTV? I hear he played Banham for money, and while he lost, i certainly wouldnt class myself as good enough to play for cash against Zorro. A geunine attempt to get involved here pal, not an attempt at robbing anyone. There are a couple of cat5's ive been told are too good for my 1st ever 9ball game, but from what im told, Ian would be a fair one. There arent many on here have seen me play, cos i dont play alot in Vegas.
You want to borrow my mask for this one pal? Think I needed it on Monday with that 9-0 I handed you. BOSH! No to be fair Kev, Danny is cat 5. Not seen much of Ians game but know he didnt play his greatest against zorro!
Hahaha yes u did hand my behind to me luggs, but then u always do you lady garden! ----------------- Quagmire is GOD

Dont know what tongue art is but thanks for the input.
Im not stating the obvious what I am saying is that tours and tournaments need to be appealing to the majority of players and not just top players or lesser players and I am trying to suggest why this currently isnt the case and why things arent working.
If you want to think everything is going great with 9 ball than thats fine but I think its pretty obvious its not the case.

think tournaments have stalled a bit cos no1 wants to sit in a pool hall allday for 10 pound comps just to gain 90 etc n thats for winning, can earn as much at work. secondly if entry fees are decent n worth enterin as in 50 per man then the problem of handicap arises and the lower cat players( myself included) just arent prepared to throw 50 away with the little handicap given. on the other hand if bigger handicaps are given whereas the lower cats have an equal ( or evan 40 percent chance) chance of beating the top players then the top players get their dummy out if they dunt get to money stages hence they will not enter. so anyway u look at it really tournaments r doomed which is sad

think a few scotch tournaments may be the answer with strict rules on teams like lower cat and a higher cat must go together. e.g - 2 must go with a 5 n 3 with a 4 etc
