Phil had a great event, especially after losing to Jasmine, that was no embarrassment either, but he was down after that match. He dug deep and showed alot of character on the Friday to win 4 on the bounce - really great performance. the kid should kick on now in the US Open, all great experience for him but i wouldnt be surprised at all if he got a few more scalps and upsets before flying home Jonesy in the hat again, another last day finish for him - should be top 32 now and also pushing for last 16 after Spain. This guy is a dark horse over the next few events!!!! keep an eye out for him, finding his feet in europe now.... not forgetting WC Daz Appleton - another good show from him, steady and strong as ever but ran into the man that i leave last.... Well done to Mark Gray again too, we have come to expect to see him in the latter stages regardless in these events but have no fear that he has shown the same kind of consistency as a Ralph Souquet this year. Well done to you mate - Fantastic Roll on the Mosconi Cup! Ossie [ This message was edited by: SHOTGUN on 2008-10-18 19:23 ]

No doubt about it, Phil is a star of the future. Any seasoned player will tell you how difficult it is to reach the semis in one of the toughest circuits in the world.
I met Phil for the first time in Germany this year where I was mightily impressed with his game.
What can you say about the winner, one of the world's bet players over many years and who now takes Mark's place at the top of the table before going into the last event of the year in Malaga.
Mark, who has had a great year drops back down to 6th but is still in with a shout to get back to the number one spot.
