Shame about Mark losing to Neils but Neils is playing really well at the moment. And what a performance from Gareth this Euro Tour, he's really playing good right now. Lets hope Imran or Darren can bring it home again for the brits. Darren v Tony is a mouthwatering game and a repeat of the Barnsley Open encounter in December where I think Daz won 10.9. This was not the most enjoyable event for me at all as circumstances just didn't go well for me. Due to work on Wednesday I arrived very late and got to bed about 1am then had to get to the club early - 7.30 to warm up for a 9am match. I was pleased to get through that after struggling with the break and coming back from 9.5 down to win 10.9. Then against Mark at 4.30pm again I struggled on the break with 5 consecutive dry breaks whereas he was managing 1 or 2 balls almost everytime. Obviously you are going to struggle against Mark with stats like that. I did get some chance in the middle of the match but the first ones were maybe half chances and it's difficult if you've been sat out for the first 5 or 6 racks. Then when a good chance came later I screwed it up but I guess I knew the match was out of reach then against such a good player. No shame in losing to Mark though so I just tried to stay positive ready for my next match. But that's where the problem was... it was scheduled for 11.30 pm and they were running late and I was the last match so eventually started around 1.15 am... more than 17.5 hours after arriving in the club! The first 5 racks did my head in as he got balls off all his 3 breaks and either had roll ins or screwed up and got lucky. Then I had 2 dry breaks to leave roll ins - 5.0. At this point it was knocking on for 2am and I just wanted to get out of there! The venue was ok and obviously it's always very well run but the area around the club and the hotels, restaurants etc were really awful. Me and Ozzie could barely believe it when we saw our room and Boyzi and Daz were in fits of laughter. I can still hear Boyzi's voice saying 'You've ad a mare, you riggers'. After losing my match at gone 2am in the morning I had a beer, got back to the room at 3am, packed my case and 3 hours later took the first train and the first flight outta there! Back in England before lunchtime Friday was not part of the plan for the Euro Tour but on this occasion I couldn't think of any where I'd rather be than back at home in my own bed So that's my story, now come on Daz and Jim... bring it home boys! I lost my money too, but I managed to turn it around and even make a profit when I also noticed how mean the table was - dry breaks for Mark meant £££'s for Big D.

Oooooh.... The final has started on Bwin, they're playing the first rack still... They make Tony the favorite at 5/2. I've backed Christian at 17/10 so I should get £2.70 back for every pound I bet. Update:Now the score is 3:1 to Christian and so I've backed Tony as his odds are 12/5 so I should get £3.40 back for every pound I bet on him. So I win either way!!! You've gotta love that!!! Big congrats to Tony on his victory! Not that bad an event for me results wise, shame I lost out 10-9 against Mohammad Yassin in my last game as I would of got Mr Gray I know the feeling about the late games Lee, my last match on Thursday finished at 2-52am! Good luck to those playing in the World 8-Ball Qualifier.
