 | The World Pool Championships - Peach AND Boyes advance to Semis! |

3-11 November 2007
TWO BRITISH PLAYERS IN SEMI-FINALS OF HISTORIC WPC
Daryl Peach and Karl Boyes have both won their Quarter-Finals matches in spectacular fashion to advance into the Semi-Finals of the 2007 World Pool Championships in Manila.
The history-making achievement is the best result for a British player ever - let alone two players, and we send our heart-felt congratulations from all the Pro9'ers back here to the two Pro9'ers over there! "Read More..." for the details.

Peach's Quarter-Final match had a very controversial interruption with the score at 10-9 in the Filipino's favour, as Bustamante and his huge army of fans in the audience thought he had luckily managed to pot the final 9-ball when escaping a snooker.
The celebrations had already started and the crowd were going wild, when referee Nigel Rees asked to see video replays - again and again - until he was totally sure that it was a foul - correctly adjudging that Bustamante had hit the nine-ball first.
Following correct etiquette, Bustamante respectfully asked to speak to the Tournament Director, Thomas Overbeck, about the decision, and Peach requested a 5 minute time-out to compose himself.
After both were satisfied, the match was resumed, and Daryl managed to hold his nerve to close out the match, booking his berth not only in the final of the World Pool Championship, but also "unofficially" into the European 2007 Mosconi Cup Team as highest finishing European player at the WPC.

Peach couldn't help shedding a little tear as the enormity of his achievement dawned on him after the most tense scenes of the tournament so far.
