NEW PLAYERS ENTER THEIR 1ST EVENT FOR FREE

All wheelchair cue-sport players invited to compete as the BWPPA 2018 Season begins.

The 2017 season ended in November as Dan Lee retained his position at the top of the rankings with 3 wins from 5 events.

OVERVIEW

This season we will be hosting 4 ranking events as well as an open disability event to be held in August at Stoke Mandeville.

After conclusion of event 1, the ranking list will be amended to best 3 from 4 events.

Format with be Double Elimination (to semi-finals if 16 or under players, to QF if over 16), see www.bwppa.com/double-elimination-format/

Membership fee is �20 per year (paid in full at event 1) or �5 per event (additional fees apply for entry to European and world championships).

In order to move forward, the tour is inviting applications from any player outside of the top 10 as of the end of the 2017 season, or any former or new players to put their name forward for a bwppa sponsorship award. http://bwppa.com/rankings/

This will involve approximately �1.8k of BWPPA funds, being used to help at least 6 players towards their costs of attending the tour in 2018.

For example player x (a northern player) would receive approx. �100 an event when attending an event at stoke manderville and player y (a southern player,) would receive �100 for attending an event at barnsley. There would also be a �midlands� band.

Payment would be made following the completion of an event, in the event of a player not being able to attend, the funding for that event would pass to the 1st reserve etc.

We envisage being able to support at least 6 players in total in 2018, and hope to expand that further in 2019, as funds permit. We will select from new players, players who appear on the tour occasionally and former players.

To register your interest in this, please send an email to the tour chairman/administrator at tonysouthern@msn.com, this is the only application method, posts on here, texts and PM's will not be accepted. Feel free to ask any questions via any method.

Once all applications have been received (closing date: Feb. 28 2018), the decision on who to support (Inc. a reserve list) will be taken by a full bwppa committee vote, and all those considered informed, within 14 days.
