| EPBF Euro Tour Hungary Open - Souquet wins again! |

Ralf Souquet and Beatrix Dobossy, Owner of Beassy™ Ltd. “The Kaiser” left no doubt he wanted that title
In a final match that was dominated by one player only, Ralf Souquet (GER) subdued Marcus Chamat (SWE) with 8:2.
Like in the whole tournament, Souquet’s victory was never really in danger. He played rock solid and left no doubt to anyone that he really wanted that title. The early stage of the match was determined by safety play from both players. Chamat had to struggle from the very beginning to keep pace with “The Kaiser”. Souquet took a quick 3:0 lead over Chamat. Then, Chamat seemed to play the better safeties for a while and that made him win two racks in a row, making the score 3:2 for Souquet. From then on, it was only Souquet pushing the button for “win” on the score computer. The 10th and final rack summed up what had happened before. Both players were engaged in an intensive safety battle but Chamat scratched while attempting to pocket the 2-ball. He did not need to ask Souquet a second time whether he wanted to win the title. Souquet took the match and the title of the Dynamic Hungary Open Euro-Tour 2011. It is Souquet’s third win this year on the Euro-Tour after Paris and Treviso and he is now leading the Euro-Tour overall rankings.
“I don’t know whether I’m on the summit of my career”, said a modest Souquet in an interview after the final match. “I am happy with my achievements these days but I am a perfectionist. I always try to improve”. “At 42 years of age, I am looking forward for a few more good years.” “This tournament, I had one match that was close. It went hill-hill. All other matches, I really dominated my opponent so I think it was ok for me to win it”. It was definitely ok, Kaiser…!

EPBF Euro Tour Hungary Open - The Kaiser joins Napoleon in final
Ralf Souquet - Germany No chance for Jayson Shaw in semi-final match with Ralf Souquet
Ralf Souquet (GER) won the second semi-final match against Jayson Shaw (SCO) clearly with 8:2.
The “Kaiser” never showed any mercy for his Scottish opponent. Being 4:0 in front, Souquet even managed to make Shaw commit three consecutive fouls which means a loss of rack. That is a real punishment for any pool player. In the 7th rack when Souquet was up 6:0, he was forced by Shaw to commit a foul and Shaw was able to win a rack and open his account. He even managed to win another rack and turned the scoreboard to 6:2 because Souquet played a push-out and committed another foul after Shaw handed the shot back to him. But Souquet was not impressed at all. He finished the match 8:2 by winning two more racks, playing impressively strong. It will be interesting in the final match to see how Chamat will try to stop Souquet from taking his third Euro-Tour title this year.
EPBF Euro Tour Hungary Open - Chamat ousts Buck!
Marcus Chamat - Sweden “Napoleon” to be the first man in the final of the Dynamic Hungary Open
In a match that showed no winner for a long time, Marcus Chamat (SWE) defeated Markus Buck (GER) by a whisker with 8:7.
What a tragic end for Markus Buck and his “Cinderella” story at this Euro-Tour in Hungary, as commentator Marco Takis called it. Markus Buck was playing at equal strength with his opponent, long time European top player Chamat. In the 12th rack when the score was 6:5 in favour of Chamat, the Swede played a tricky push-out and left a shot for his opponent. Markus Buck who seemed to have no nerves gripped his chance and tied the match at 6:6. “I had to land exactly for that ball, otherwise I would have hooked myself”, said Chamat after the match. “I know the outcome of it looked really bad but it was a tricky push out”.
In the next rack, Buck was almost on his way to the hill when he missed a makeable 5-ball and left the table for Chamat. Coming into the table, Chamat pocketed the 5-ball to find himself in a very tough position for the 6-ball. But with all his experience, he pocketed also that difficult shot and ran the rack to get on the hill first. The 14th rack saw Marcus Chamat breaking the balls. The 2-ball went down and everything was in the open for “Napoleon” to clear all balls and win the match. But he scratched and played a foul on the 1-ball. That unexpectedly brought Buck back to the table. And again, Mr. No-Nerves ran all balls, tying the match hill-hill at 7:7. That’s when the drama unfolded. Buck broke the balls in the final rack and the 1-ball went in on the break. He played a very tough position shot and just landed perfect and the 3-ball. He pocketed the 3-ball and had to play the 4-ball with a hard shot and very low English since it was hanging over the pocket and he would not have got position for the 5-ball if he would have played it differently. Then Buck miscued and completely missed the 4-ball, committing a foul and giving ball-in-hand for Chamat to finish the match in his favour. “I felt sorry for him” admitted Chamat later, “it was a terrible miscue”. “It was not easy for him to get position on the 5-ball so he had to play the cue ball with maximum low English”.
The next semi-final between Ralf Souquet (GER) and Jayson Shaw (SCO) is coming and. In that match, the opponent for Chamat in the final match will be determined.
EPBF Euro Tour Hungary Open - The Buck has not stopped yet!
Markus Buck - Germany Unheralded German player Markus Buck finishes Boyes, Peach and Chinakhov one after the other for a spot in the semi-final
Markus Buck (GER) just won his quarter-final match over Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) with 8:7 and secured himself a spot in the semi-final of the Dynamic Hungary Open 10-ball Euro-Tour.
It was already a sensation and upset yesterday when former World Champion Karl Boyes (GBR) lost to dark horse Buck in the round of the last 32 players. Today, the upset became even bigger. In the round of the last 16 players, Buck went up 7:1 over former World Champion Daryl Peach (GBR). Then Peach tried to get back and made the score 7:5, still in favour of Buck. In the 13th rack, Buck scratched on the 5-ball and Peach got to the table with ball in hand. He pocketed the 5-ball and scratched himself! That unbelievable error from Peach opened the door for Buck to win another rack and snatch the match of Peach, winning 8:5.
In the next round, Buck played Ruslan Chinakhov. The match was close and tight at all times and it led to a hill-hill situation when Buck proved to have the better nerves, winning 8:7 over the Russian Junior World Champion from 2009.
“Since I have made it to the last 32 players, I only enjoy playing here in this tournament”, said Buck happy but exhausted after the match against Chinakhov. “I could not believe it when I eliminated Karl Boyes from the event. Now, I just take it as it comes. Whatever happens, I am already happy with what I have achieved here this week” said Buck who is originating from Goeppingen, a town in southern Germany between Stuttgart and Ulm.
The semi-finals will be played one after the other. At 14:30 local time, Marcus Chamat will face Markus Buck in the first semi-final match. Right after that, starting at 16:00 local time, Ralf Souquet and Jayson Shaw will decide who of them will make it to the final of the Dynamic Hungary Open 10-ball event.
